To make our services available to the children and families of eight Nevada counties for free, we ask for financial support from our community.

The past two months have been nothing short of transformative for the Carson City Rural Child Advocacy Center. On August 11, we officially opened our doors with a Grand Opening celebration that marked not just a ribbon-cutting, but a powerful commitment to the children and families we serve.
The celebration was filled with energy, gratitude, and hope for the future. Community leaders, law enforcement partners, child advocates, and supporters came together to witness this momentous occasion. As shared in Nevada Appeal’s coverage of the event and captured beautifully in this video, the Grand Opening represented years of collaboration and determination finally coming to life. With this center, children in northern Nevada’s rural counties now have a safe, welcoming space where they can begin the healing process surrounded by trauma-informed care and unwavering support.
At its core, the Carson City Rural Child Advocacy Center exists to bring safety, healing and justice to children who have experienced abuse, neglect or exploitation. Our team coordinates a network of professionals– law enforcement officers, medical providers, therapists, and victim advocates– so families don’t have to navigate these complex systems alone. Services at the CCRCAC include forensic interviews conducted in a child-friendly setting, medical exams by trained professionals, crisis counseling, referrals to long-term therapy, and victim advocacy to guide families every step of the way. By housing these services under one roof, we reduce the trauma of repeated interviews, and create a streamlined, compassionate response.
Just days before the opening, we also hosted another milestone event: the Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) Summit on August 1. This powerful day brought together law enforcement, prosecutors, medical staff, therapists, child advocates, and social workers from across rural northern Nevada. Together, we learned, shared, and renewed our collective commitment to providing coordinated care for children and families facing abuse, exploitation, and crisis. You can read more about the Summit here.
The Grand Opening and the MDT Summit together reflect how a vision can become reality when a community unites around a shared purpose. These milestones are more than celebrations, they represent the foundation of a stronger future where every child in Nevada’s rural communities has access to safety, advocacy, and healing. By standing together, we are turning hope into action and ensuring no child is left without the care and protection they deserve.
Our work is just beginning. To ensure every child receives the care they need, we rely on the generosity of our supporters. Your donation today helps sustain and expand these critical services across Nevada’s rural communities.

“This building was built in 1906. It was the home of Judge Norcross—supreme court justice—and so, it’s fitting that it is now the home of justice for children that have been victims of crime.”
